Acres of cropland or tillable land 50.0

Acres of pasture 50.0

Acres of unfenced pasture 50.0

Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Lease (1 to 5 Years), Lease (5+ Years), Lease with Option to Buy, Employment, Employment with Transfer. More info: Looking to lease. Open to hear any employment offer/idea. Does not have to be 150 acres. I would entertain just about anything over 15-20 acres.

Equipment & infrastructure:

Barn, Fencing, Well / Pond / Other water source, Livestock facilities. More info: I own a tractor and hay equipment. Can provide fencing if reasonable agreement is met with longterm lease. Handling facility would be a big plus, but not a deal breaker if there is not. Barn is a big plus, but also not a deal breaker. There MUST be water.

Current production on farm:

Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Field crops, Hay or pasture, Woodlot or forest products.

Current farming practices:

Conventional, None, the property is not being farmed. More info: I have no problem getting a property going that has been out of production for a bit of time. Assuming we can come to an agreement that is fair for all.

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Number of years experience:

Other qualifications:

Farm business training, Higher education in agriculture or related field. More info: BQA certified. Master Beef Producer. Currently run a commercial cow/calf operation with 35 head. We rotationally graze our pastures. Daily and/or weekly moves. Manage cattle and land with as little stress as possibly. Sustainable agriculture is our goal. Resting pastures is the best management decision ever put into practice. In 2018 I plan to take AI training.

Production goals:

Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Hay or pasture. More info: Would like to find pasture and/or hay ground. We are approaching maximum stocking rate on our farm. Need to find hay ground so we can graze our entire farm, or find pasture to spread some animals around.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

I am thirty years old, grew up on a farm.  I currently live on and manage a commercial cow/calf operation with 35 cows in Hawkins County, belonging to our family.  Half of this herd is mine, .  I am very interested in sustainable agriculture using a holistic approach.  I own a tractor and equipment for property maintenance.  Therefore, if a property has been out of production for a time, i can get it back in shape, potentially. I am about doing things the right way.  I have interest in finishing cattle for slaughter if I can find room to do it. We retain our own heifers, so it would be very beneficial to have a place we could run replacements as they grow.

I would like to find something in Hawkins County ideally, but willing to put cattle up to an hour away.  Hamblen, Grainger, Hancock, Greene, Jefferson, Sullivan, and Washington County would be a possibility.

Thank you for the consideration,

Brad Harris
