By Faith Farm located in Joelton, TN is home to Fed By Faith, a 501C3 non-profit with the mission is to grow organic food in a way that involves the local community and contributes healthy food sources to the most disadvantaged around us. This is our 12th year of growing and donating to area food banks. We also are an agri-tourism destination offering You Pick Flower and other events to raise funds for our non-profit. By Faith Farm is located 20 min from Nashville. It is 97 acres farm, 45 in woodland, 30 in pasture, 12 in cropland. Approximately 2 of these acres are currently used to grow seasonal crops for donation and our aim is to contribute approximately 15,000 pounds of food per year. Our goal is to double that amount is the next 2 years. We grow using regenerative farming practices. We were awarded Conservation Farmer of the year by Davidson County Soil Conservation district for our conservation practices. This position is for a farm manager who is knowledgeable in ecological practices while serving the mission of our non-profit and helping feed those in need. Have a satisfying career where you'll get your hands dirty while making an impact on the community! As an initial seasonal position, Fed By Faith, located at By Faith Farm, is looking for a full-time farm supervisor who will assist in the planning, planting, cultivating and harvesting of our crops. This role has the opportunity for a one bedroom efficiency, reduced-rent housing on the property for easier access to the farm if candidate so desires. Once harvested, these crops are donated to local food banks to support those in our community who are experiencing food insecurities.

You will be responsible for: -Analyzing existing operations, crops and recommending improvements. -Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring volunteers understand the processes as they assist. -Visiting the different divisions to inspect, water and cultivate crops. -Ensuring seeds, fertilizers and other supplies are restocked as needed. -Assist with providing marketing photos and updates to the Farm team so we can continue to promote the products produced on the farm. -Ensuring all volunteers adhere to health and safety regulations. -Assisting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers. -Providing hands-on assistance for events as needed

Additional aspects

We are looking for someone with: -Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent. -Extensive experience in a farming-related field. -Management experience would be a plus. -A passion for agriculture. -Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. -The ability to make decisions in stressful environments. -Superb communication and interpersonal skills. -Willingness to be a part of an outstanding team and collaborate on multiple projects. -Experience with building, maintenance, repairing equipment and other farm related activities is desirable. Pay ranges between $20-$23 per hr depending on experience.
