Lick Skillet Farm produces grass fed beef, pork, poultry, and lamb on 1000 acres of high quality farmland in East TN. As we grow, we are always looking for talented managers interested in joining our team. Right now we have openings for enterprise managers to develop our Pet Foods and Food Truck operations. We have several million dollars invested in land and infrastructure, and we are looking for leaders who can put it to work and step up to manage their own enterprise as part of a team of stacked enterprise managers. All enterprises share the same brand (Lick Skillet Farm) and back office support (marketing, accounting, etc) allowing you to avoid risks and focus on production. While we will consider entry level positions in the right circumstances, we are primarily interested in hiring experienced farmers ready to step to managing and growing an enterprise. We have excellent infrastructure in place. Good fencing for rotational grazing cattle and sheep, good chicken tractors and henhouses, good facilities for feeding and grazing hogs. We also have good office facilities, good walk-in freezers, coolers, and reefer trailers. All tractors, implements, trucks, trailers, barns, feed grinders, are shared across enterprises, greatly reducing enterprise costs. We are also able to invest in additional infrastructure is their is a business plan that supports it. This is an opportunity for the right manager to step into a well equipped, fully functional farm operations and grow it.

We do pastured proteins: beef, pork, poultry, lamb all sold direct to the public. We are looking to expand by stacking additional enterprises. We are open to considering agritourism, events, forest products, mushrooms, and other enterprises beyond the four we focus on now. We see big opportunities in Pet Food and a Farm Truck, and those are our current hiring priorities.

Additional aspects

This century farm belongs to a family trust whose mission is to partner with farmers to see the farm sustained for another 100 years. The owners of the land are not interested in selling or leasing the land. Rather, they want to invest in the development of the next generation of farm leaders who will operate the farm and its various stacked enterprises.
